Pedagogical and Psychological Research Methodology (PPM)

The research methodology group (PPM) works on developing and applying methods for data analyses in educational science. In Educational Measurement we focus on Item Response Theory, where applications work mainly with large scale assessment studies and monitoring educational outcomes. In detail, staff in the PPM department work on the following projects:

Software
When applying quantitative and qualitative methods for empirical research, PPM staff use the following software products:
  • WINMIRA for mixture distribution models
  • MULTIRA for multidimensional Rasch analyses
  • PANMARK for measurement of change with categorical data
