From the main railway station to the IPN:
Walking: ca. 35 to 40 minutes walking time
By taxi: ca. 10 minutes travelling time
By bus: no. 62 (in the direction of Projensdorf) or bus no. 61 (direction Suchsdorf Rungholtplatz) or bus no. 81/82 (direction Uni/Botanischer Garten) direct to the "I.P.N." bus stop. The bus stop is right in front of the main entrance to the IPN building. Travelling time by bus from the main railway station to the IPN bus stop is ca. 17 to 20 minutes.

From Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel airport to the IPN in Kiel:
Because the airport in Hamburg is situated in the north of the city, it is not worth travelling into the city centre to get the train from there. It is much easier to take the "Kielius", which is the airport bus directly to Kiel. The Kielius goes hourly. Travelling time from Hamburg airport to the main railway station is about 90 minutes. From Schwedenkai to the IPN:
Walking: ca. 30 to 35 minutes walking time
By taxi: ca. 10 minutes travelling time
By bus: from bus stop "Bootshafen" (just a few minutes away, walking from Schwedenkai): bus no. 62 (direction Projensdorf) or bus no. 61 (direction: Suchsdorf Rungholtplatz) direct to the "I.P.N." bus stop. The bus stop is right in front of the main entrance to the IPN building. Travelling time by bus to the IPN bus stop is ca. 12 to 15 minutes.

Entering Kiel via the B 404 / B 76: When you are driving into Kiel, you will see the sign for the "Universität". Just follow these signs which will direct you via Westring to the university. At the junction of Westring/Olshausenstr., turn right onto Olshausenstr. After a short distance (at the most two minutes), you will drive under two bridges. The first one is a pedestrian bridge and the second a train bridge. After the train bridge, on the right, you will see a five-storey white building with a blue annex and a bus stop in front of it: this is the IPN building. The parking lot is situated at the back of the building.

Entering Kiel via the A 215: Shortly after the motorway junction "Kiel West", you will start to see signs for "Universität". Just follow them and they will bring you to the B 76. How to get from the B76 to the IPN is described above, under: "By car: Entering Kiel via the B 76".
