Project Logo

The project "IMPULSE" investigates the potential of different approaches to support low-performing students at the sensitive point of transition to secondary school in mathematics.

The IMPULSE project investigates the potential of different approaches to support low-achieving students in mathetmatics at the transition from elementary to secondary school. The focus is on the use of an adaptive e-learning program alone and in combination with tutoring in small groups. Effects on the performance, motivation and emotions of low-achieving students are evaluated. The tutoring is conducted by trained student teachers; accordingly, positive effects of the training and the targeted, guided reflection during the tutoring on the professional competence of these student teachers are expected.
