Research Line

The professional competence of teachers is crucial to the quality of educational opportunities and to learners’ educational success. Accordingly, the Institute’s research strand on Professional Competencies of Preschool and School Teachers attempts to discover what makes teachers good teachers and good in-service training staff in STEM subjects, and examines potential routes to improving initial training and continuing professional development for these teachers. A further interest of this research strand is the role of digitalization in teacher education.
