The winners from the second round for the 26th International Biology Olympiad

Congratulations to the 48 students from 14 Federal States!
The second nationwide IBO round has just been completed. Altogether 585 students qualified for the second round of the competition. However, just 547 of these participated to have their chances gauged. In all, 120 points could be achieved in total in the two demanding parts of the exam. Those students who achieved 62 points have now qualified for the next round.
The third selection phase will take place in the near future in the form of a one-week seminar at the IPN in Kiel as well as in Hamburg from 08^th - 13^th February 2015. The 48 students will be trained in seminars and supported during practicals to meet the demands of the Biology Olympiad.
In the course of this week, they will experience an interesting supporting programme and get to know like-minded people. During the practical and theoretical exams they have to prove what their abilities in biology. The ten best participants then qualify for the fourth and final round in May, in which the German National Team is formed from the four most successful students. In July, the group will travel to Aarhus, Denmark to compete at the 26^th International Biology Olympiad.
