IPN committed to Open Access
This week the IPN management passed a resolution on an Open Access policy. The directors recommend that the IPN scientists publish their research findings according to the Open Access principle. This will take place at the IPN directly through publication in Open-Access publication media and – in the framework of legal possibilities – through parallel or rapid customization of the publications using a document server.
When publishing directly using Open Access, the IPN recommends using a user-friendly free licence.
Open Access represents unlimited and free access of quality- monitored scientific information in the internet. By eliminating technical, financial and legal barriers, Open Access contributes to advancing scientific innovation processes and improving the visibility of research findings. As a result, scientists receive support in research and publication processes and, at the same time, using publically promoted research is maximized. Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN) as a member of the Leibniz community has committed itself to Open Access.
