Leibniz Center of Excellence for Early Childhood Education

The new Leibniz Center of Excellence for Early Childhood Education recently commenced operations. Administration and coordination are located at the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN). The Center studies the development of children during the first 8 years of their lives, and which methods are used at home and institutionalized learning environments to foster growth. Additional research interests are the professional development of educators and the quality of learning opportunities.

The Leibniz Center of Excellence for Early Childhood Education is an interdisciplinary research cooperation with scientists from the fields of educational psychology, developmental psychology, educational research, cognitive psychology, physics and math education, as well as economics of education.
