The application of the Bayesian procedure in educational research –will be the focus at the ZIB Academy this year. In all, 32 young scientists from Germany, Switzerland and Austria are coming to Kiel to participate at the ZIB Academy which is taking place at the IPN.
Three of the leading institutions in German educational research, the German Institute for International Educational Research (DIPF), the School of Education at the Technical University Munich (TUM) and the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN) constitute the Centre for International Student Assessment (ZIB). ZIB is especially interested in the promotion of young scientists.
The first workshop will be held by Professor David Kaplan (University of Wisconsin-Madison), a leading international expert in the field of Baysian statistics. An additional workshop is intended as an introduction to the Assessment of statistical models in the Bayesian approach with WinBugs Software.
