Registration now open – ozean:werkstatt for tomorrow’s oceanographers

17. March 2017

Young people conduct their own research experiments to learn about seas and oceans.

What does the Baltic Sea sound like to porpoises? What creates sea currents? Are the oceans in danger? What life forms coexist in the Baltic Sea?

Students grade 7 and up will be investigating these and other questions at the ozean:werkstatt. Starting March, 28th 2017, the Kieler Forschungswerkstatt is offering a free afternoon program about marine science from 3:30 pm to 6 pm every Tuesday. The program offers a wide variety of activities like excursions to the beach. Participants will use the underwater microphone in the Kiel Canal, or will independently collect water samples from the Kiel Fjord.

The young scientists will be supported by seasoned researchers from the field, as well as the Kieler Forschungswerkstatt’s educators.
