10th Schleswig-Holstein Summer University for Teachers at the Sankelmark Academy puts focus on teaching techniques.

On June 24th, 2017, State Secretary of Education, Dr. Dorit Stenke, opens this year’s Schleswig-Holstein Summer University for Teachers. The program celebrates its 10th anniversary by focusing on the topic of teaching techniques, a core responsibility of every educator. Successful classroom education is a very complex task and the success depends on many factors.

In lectures and workshops scientists of various disciplines will present the latest research on education and discuss their findings with the participants.

A panel discussion with renowned education researchers and representatives of the education administration will examine the question, “What does educational research have to offer to classroom teaching?” Two members of the panel, former IPN director Prof. Manfred Prenzel of the TU Munich, and Werner Klein, formerly of the Federal Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs, helped found the summer university in 2008.

The summer university is organized by the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Education, the IPN, Kiel University, and the Institute for Quality Development at Schools Schleswig-Holstein (IQSH) and, continues to be a very popular program of further education for teachers.
