Our mission is the development and promotion of science and mathematics education through research. The IPN's teams of scientists, experts in science and mathematics education, pedagogues, and psychologists work together - their focus is the fundamental research questions concerning the teaching and learning of sciences and mathematics.

The IPN is a member of the Leibniz-Gemeinschaft. It is closely affiliated to the University of Kiel.
