Citizen Science has the potential to reduce barriers between science and society by enabling citizens to actively participate in authentic scientific research. The project CitSci^ID investigates how participating multiple times in Citizen Science may foster science identity development of students and teachers. Building on teachers’ experience with Citizen Science, we collaboratively develop a workshop and teaching materials to support the implementation of Citizen Science in schools. Similar modules will be developed to cover Citizen Science as a topic in teacher education at university as well as during the initial teacher training phase.
