The collaborative project "Schule macht stark - SchuMaS"(School makes you strong) aims to promote the basic linguistic and mathematical competencies, the social learning, and the learning motivation of students at elementary and lower secondary level from 200 schools in challenging social situations across Germany. The starting points of the research-based and practice-oriented support lie in the development of teaching (with a focus on German and mathematics lessons), the professionalization of teachers and other pedagogical staff (in subject-related and interdisciplinary areas), the targeted further development of school development capacities, school culture, and leadership, as well as the expansion and strengthening of networking in the socio-spatial environment of the schools.
