College for Interdisciplinary Educational Research to meet at the IPN

October 10th, 2019

A workshop will take place at the IPN on 15th to 17th 2019 within the network CIDER (College for Interdisciplinary Educational Research)

The College is an interdisciplinary network of post-doctoral educational researchers. It was founded on the firm belief that the field of empirical educational research can benefit greatly from cross-disciplinary exchange and collaboration. CIDER combines the following academic disciplines: Economics, Educational Science, Psychology and Sociology.

CIDER’s goals are to:
1. promote interdisciplinary research in education,
2. build an international cross-disciplinary research network in education,
3. advance the academic careers of its fellows,
4. raise awareness for public science.

During the 2 day Kick-off Workshop, the new fellows will have the opportunity to get to know each other and to meet the senior researchers and former fellows from the first two cohorts. At the heart of the workshop, the fellows will present their field of research expertise in the respective disciplines. Furthermore, there will be room to exchange first ideas for interdisciplinary collaborations (the so called micro groups).
