As part of the LeaP@CAU project, IPN professor Uta Klusmann will give a public lecture on February 22, 2018, 6:00 p.m., on the subject of myths and facts about teacher training.

The LeaP @ CAU project is part of the “Qualitätsoffensive Lehrerbildung”, a joint initiative of the Federal Government and Länder.

In her lecture, Prof. Klusmann will talk about popular views and opinions on teacher education and examine them in light of current research results. Questions covered which are also often discussed by the public:

  • Who decides to become a teacher?
  • Which factors predict success in the teaching profession?
  • Are prospective teachers already overburdened during their studies and preparations?
  • Is more work experience during studies always better?
  •  Is the knowledge gained at the university relevant for teaching?
