Kids’ University starting on 30 November

1. November 2016

The time has come again; Kiel’s university for children and pupils is now going into its ninth term.

The presentations will take place in Kiel’s Audimax every Monday at 16:00. The target group is pupils from the ages of eight to twelve and it is requested that the age statement is heeded.

The Kids‘ University will commence on 30 November with a presentation by Dr Piatkowski about pencil squid and octopi. Additionally, the talk will cover their relationship with sperm whales.

Once again in December a Christmas lecture is being held where both children and grown-ups can participate in the event at the Audimax. Professor Birnbaum, a polar researcher, will take the audience on a fascinating odyssey to the world of ice. In January, Professor Hentschel will continue the series of lectures with a focus on the life of poriferans that have been populating our oceans for millions of years. Professor Kremer’s talk will center on the significance of water for us and the entire world.

It is advised to buy tickets in advance of the events. They can be purchased from the Kieler Nachrichten’s customer desk from November 08. The Audimax will also be selling tickets from 15:00 on the event days.
