Kiel Forschungswerkstatt at the Digital Week in Kiel
The Kieler Forschungswerkstatt, a joint establishment of Kiel University and the IPN, was represented at the Digital Week Kiel 2019 with presentations on robotics and marine mammals.
On Saturday, the 14th of September 2019, the Kieler Forschungswerkstatt hosted the Family Day in the Seeburg. From 10 a.m. on, young and old were able to test various activities pertaining to robotics. Thus there were a number of different participatory activities for Arduino vehicles and Arduino boats, but also various stations at which the guests were able to get acquainted with the Ozobot mini robots. Students also presented their self-built and programmed robot vehicles.
The ocean:laboratory of the Kieler Forschungswerkstatt with the interactive poster from the EU project Marine Mammals was already a guest in the Seeburg on Wednesday, September 11th, 2019. At the Digital Ocean theme day, visitors were able to immerse themselves in the world of marine mammals. For example, they learned how the former land animals adapted to life in the water or which man-made dangers marine mammals such as seals, porpoises or sperm whales are exposed to. Furthermore, the ocean:lab team presented the learning materials developed in the project.
