Spotlight on Evolution: Register now for Darwin Day 2022!
On November 11, 2022, the Kiel Evolution Center and the Kiel Zoological Museum will again welcome schools and interested parties to Darwin Day. The IPN will also join them in this event. In four lectures, scientists from Kiel University and GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research will provide insights into how modern science on the interaction of hosts with microorganisms is currently revolutionizing our ideas about biology and evolution. In addition, a panel discussion will be held in which the speakers will respond in depth to questions from the audience.
Of particular interest to participating schools and teachers: This year, scientists and teachers at the IPN have once again developed accompanying materials for school lessons for Darwin Day free of charge. These materials elaborate on the topics of Darwin Day, allowing them to be quickly and effortlessly integrated into regular lessons. The IPN will conduct a study as part of the event in which classes can participate on a voluntary basis.
The Darwin Day will take place on November 11 from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Audimax of the CAU. There will also be a broadcast via livestream on YouTube, so that interested parties can also participate online. Registration is already underway, interested parties can still register until October 15, 2022 by emailing [Email protection active, please enable JavaScript.] and are asked to provide the following information:
