Initiative by:
DIE ZEIT, Stiftung Lesen and Deutsche Bahn Stiftung

Theme:
Every year on the third Friday in November, the nationwide Reading Aloud Day is a public signal for the importance of reading aloud. This year, IPN staff members will again participate in this day of action. They will visit elementary school classes and read to children from STEM-related books.

We support this initiative because studies show that children who are regularly read to have particularly good starting chances. They have a larger vocabulary at an early age, learn to read more easily and have better grades in many subjects at school.
