Fifty Years of Research
IPN Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education 1966 - 2016
A kind of deficit analysis in the 1960s brought about the establishment of the IPN where for over 50 years researchers have been studying the teaching and learning of natural sciences. In 2008 the IPN incorporated mathematics into these studies.
The IPN’s anniversary is an occasion to feature previous and current projects to the public in a brochure and to give present and former staff of the IPN the opportunity to speak of their work. In their respective welcome addresses the President of the Leibniz Association as well as local and state politicians commend the work of the IPN.
