The IPN

Welcome to the website of the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN) in Kiel, Germany. Here you will find general information about the Institute.

The IPN conducts basic and applied research on topics around the learning and teaching of the sciences and mathematics within and outside of schools; it added the teaching and learning of computer science to its research remit in 2022. It centers its nationwide activities on projects that are in the public interest at federal or state level and that Germany’s higher education institutions are unable to carry out.
